Service Overview
Our Cardiac Programs specialise in the rehabilitation of patients who have suffered a recent cardiac event or are experiencing associated persisting disability and dependency following a cardiac event or exacerbation of an acute cardiac illness/injury where the patient requires support and guidance with basic ADL tasks and/or mobility.
Services
Inpatient (Cardiac Rehabilitation) What is this?
Comprehensive cardiovascular rehabilitation program with education and support provided by Multidisciplinary team. Referral to outpatient Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Services as appropriate.
Outpatient (Cardiac Rehabilitation) What is this?
Program length is generally 6-8 weeks at a frequency of 2 or 3 sessions per week. Sessions generally run for 2-2.5 hours and include multi-disciplinary input from a combination of Physio/Exercise Physiology/OT and include exercise and education. (Private hospital cover/DVA cover is required)
