Tweed Heart Failure
Service Overview
The Tweed Hospital Heart Failure Program provides a multidisciplinary approach to both education and heart failure exercise rehab. The program is co-ordinated by a specialist heart failure nurse and physiotherapist over an eight week period.
Doctors, nurses, patients and allied health practitioners are welcome to refer patients.
Services
Inpatient (Cardiac Rehabilitation) What is this?
Heart failure patients participate in exercise and education. Education covers a wide range of topics including the benefits of exercise and heart failure self management e.g. diet, salt and fluid restrictions and action plans which keep heart failure patients well longer in their homes.
